  1. Beautiful loaves, Emily. Do you have tips to share on how to successfully slash the loaves pre-baking? My years' long learning process on slashing is not yielding progress very quickly. :) I've also really been enjoying your sharing on your art endeavours.

    1. Thank you, Gretchen. And thank you for visiting my blog. I, too, still struggle with the slashing. I have success most of the time, but sometimes the results are a disappointment. I find that if I let the loaves rise too long, sometimes the slashing deflates them. It helps, too, if I use a sharp knife. Serrated ones work pretty good, but I'd like to invest in a lame-- a special tool that professional bakers use for this purpose.
