Aunt Sara's Chunky Monkey Pancakes With Peanut Butter Syrup

Sara whipped up a special breakfast for the gang the other morning.

She calls them "naughty". I think she found the recipe on Our Best Bites.

The kids thought they'd died and gone to heaven.

I thought you might like to try them this weekend. Your family will love you.

Whisk together:
1 1/3 c. flour
3 T. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1 1/2 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt

Mix together in another bowl:
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 t. vanilla
 1T. oil
1 large egg

Mix wet and dry ingredients until just combined.

Stir into mixture:
2 ripe bananas, diced small
1/4 c. chocolate chips, chopped and tossed with 2 t. flour

Fry on griddle until golden brown.

Peanut Butter Syrup:
1 c. maple syrup
1/2 c. peanut butter
Warm gently on stove or microwave at 30 second intervals until smooth.

  1. Thanks for the recipe girls! Looks like the kind of Keavin's heaven! I'll try these one for sure!

  2. Oh, doesn't this sound heavenly1 I will have to print out these recipes. We love chocolate chip pancakes around here, but I've never thought to add banana chunks to them. And maple syrup with peanut butter -- mmm. How can you go wrong? :) Thanks for sharing.
