a fish story

They get up at 3:00 am to be out on the water by 4.
It is so dark.
The water so still, so calm.
Perfect time to catch a fish, they say.
High hopes.
Then, that red ball of fire creeps so slowly over the horizon.
There is a tug on Gary's line.
Excitement beyond belief.
King size salmon~ a whopper!
"This is for my grandkids," he says with a grin on his face.
Such pride.
Just look at him.

  1. That is great! Fishing has a kind of "twain magic" with stories to tell! Seems like a lot of fun!
